Do NOT use thermal paper in the TM-U675. Thermal paper will not produce any visible print because the TM-U675 relies on ribbon impact, not heat. If you load thermal paper, the printer will appear to be printing but the output will be completely blank. Always use bond paper rolls for impact printers.

▶ How to Load Paper in the Epson TM-U675

1. Open the printer cover by pressing the release button on the front of the TM-U675.
2. Remove the empty paper roll core from the paper holder.
3. Place the new bond paper roll into the holder with the paper feeding from the bottom of the roll (unrolling toward you).
4. Pull a few inches of paper past the print head and out through the front of the printer.
5. Close the printer cover firmly until it clicks into place. The cover's auto-cutter mechanism should engage.
6. Press the feed button once to advance the paper and confirm it's feeding smoothly.
7. Tear off the excess paper using the built-in tear bar.

⚠️ If the paper feeds crooked or jams immediately, open the cover and reposition the roll. Make sure the roll sits flat in the holder and the paper path is not obstructed by torn paper fragments from the previous roll.

▶ Troubleshooting Common TM-U675 Paper Issues

• Paper won't feed at all? Confirm the roll is loaded with paper feeding from the bottom (toward you). If loaded backwards, the printer cannot grab the paper edge. Also check that no torn fragments from the previous roll are stuck in the paper path
• Paper tears during printing? The roll may be too tight on the holder or the paper path may have a burr or obstruction. Remove the roll, inspect the holder and paper path, and reload. If the problem repeats across multiple rolls, the issue is mechanical and not paper-related
• Validation prints are crooked? Make sure the document is inserted straight into the validation slot. The TM-U675's validation mechanism is sensitive to insertion angle. Also confirm you're using 3.25" (82mm) paper, as narrower paper can shift during validation printing
• Print is blank on receipt but validation works? Your receipt roll may be thermal paper loaded by mistake. Swap it for a bond paper roll. The validation slot uses inserted documents (checks, slips) that are usually pre-printed, so they don't rely on the paper roll
• Printer makes noise but output is blank? The ribbon cartridge (ERC-32) is either missing, installed incorrectly, or completely used up. The print head is striking the paper but there is no ink to transfer. Replace the ribbon
