What BPA-Free Means on a Thermal Roll

Thermal printing uses no ink or ribbon: the print head heats a coating on the paper, the heat sets off a reaction between a dye and a developer in that coating, and the heated spot turns black. BPA (bisphenol A) is one developer used in thermal coatings. Ours is made without it, and receipts still print dark and sharp.

You don't have to look for a BPA-free version of your size. Every thermal roll we sell is BPA-free.

Which Size Do I Need?

Start with the width. The card terminals in the table take 2 1/4 in (58mm) rolls, and the receipt printers take 3 1/8 in (80mm). Then the length: a longer roll means fewer changes during a rush, but only if it fits the paper bay, so order the size listed on your device's page.
