Description
Epson TM-T20 Paper Size: 3 1/8 in (80mm) x 230 ft Thermal Rolls
Thermal paper for the Epson TM-T20, TM-T20II, TM-T20III and TM-T20IV is 3 1/8 in (80mm) wide, and these rolls run 230 ft each. Every printer in the TM-T20 series takes the same roll, so one box covers the front counter, the bar and the back office without checking which generation sits where.
Epson built the TM-T20 for small retail stores, restaurants and grocery counters, the places where a printer that runs dry mid-rush means a line of people waiting on a receipt. A full 230 ft roll means fewer stops to reload, and the same roll comes in packs of 6 all the way up to a 50-roll case.
Key Features
- ✅ Fits every TM-T20 generation: TM-T20, TM-T20II, TM-T20III and TM-T20IV
- ✅ 2.75 in (70mm) across, under the 83mm roll limit Epson sets for the series, so the cover closes cleanly
- ✅ No ink and no ribbon: receipts come out dark and sharp from the first slip to the last
- ✅ A warning indicator shows up as the roll runs low, so the next one is ready before the paper runs out
- ✅ BPA-free coating for the staff handing out receipts and the customers taking them home
- ✅ Made in the United States to one specification, the same roll in every pack size

▶ Which TM-T20 Printers Use This Paper
Epson lists the same paper for every printer in the series: 80mm wide (79.5mm, plus or minus 0.5mm) on a roll no more than 83mm (3.27 in) across. That covers:
• TM-T20, the original model
• TM-T20II, including the Ethernet Plus model
• TM-T20III, in its USB, parallel, Ethernet and wireless versions
• TM-T20IV, the current model, which Epson names as the replacement for the TM-T20III

▶ How to Load a Roll in the TM-T20
- Use the cover open lever to release the paper cover, then swing it up.
- Take out the empty core from the last roll.
- Set the new roll in the bay.
- Pull out a little paper and close the cover.
Blank receipt after loading? The roll went in backwards. Open the cover, flip the roll over and print again.
▶ Will This Roll Fit?
✅ 3 1/8 in (80mm) x 230 ft thermal: the size the TM-T20 series is built for, 2.75 in across against Epson's 83mm limit
❌ Rolls larger than 3.27 in (83mm) across: the cover will not close on them
❌ 2 1/4 in (58mm) rolls: the printer has to be converted with Epson's 58mm roll paper guide, and Epson's TM-T20III guide warns it cannot be switched back to 80mm afterward
❌ Bond or carbonless register rolls: the TM-T20 prints with heat, so plain paper comes out blank
▶ Troubleshooting Paper Problems
• Blank receipts on a new roll: the roll is upside down. Flip it over so the coated side meets the print head.
• Faint or light gray print on a fresh roll: the print head is dirty, usually with residue left by earlier paper. Clean it with rubbing alcohol on a lint-free rag or a cotton ball, let it dry, then print again.
• Cover will not close: the roll is too big across for the bay. These rolls measure 2.75 in, under Epson's 83mm limit.
▶ Why BPA-Free Matters
A receipt passes through a lot of hands: the cashier all shift, then the customer on the way out. These rolls use a BPA-free coating, so that is one less thing to think about when a receipt changes hands.
▶ Made in the USA, Same Roll Every Order
These rolls are made in the United States to one specification. The 6-pack and the 50-roll case hold the same roll, so the fit you get on your first order is the fit you get on every one after it.
▶ How Many Rolls to Order
• 6 rolls: a spare stack for a printer that only prints now and then
• 12 rolls: a steady supply for a single register
• 18 or 24 rolls: a busier counter, or a few printers sharing one stockroom
• 50-roll case: the lowest cost per roll and the fewest reorders
