Specifications

▶ Loading Paper in the Ingenico Desk 3500

1. Lift the catch at the back of the terminal and slide the paper cover toward the rear, without forcing it against the cables.
2. Set the roll in the bay with its loose end unwinding from underneath and heading toward the screen.
3. Pull the loose end up past the top of the terminal and hold it there.
4. Close the lid and press the middle of it until it clips.

Tip: on a fresh roll, tear off the first full turn before your first sale. Ingenico's guide notes that outer turn can be scuffed in shipping.

Tip: a blank receipt means the roll went in backwards. Turn it over so the paper unwinds from underneath.

Ingenico gives the Desk/3500 one paper spec: a 58mm roll width and a 40mm maximum diameter.

▶ Desk 3500 Receipts Blank, Faint, or Jammed

• Nothing prints at all: check that the roll is seated and the paper runs through the slot before the lid closes. Ingenico's own checklist starts there.

• Blank slip with the paper moving: the heat-sensitive side is turned away from the print head. Reload with the paper coming off the bottom.

• Gray or faint print: either the roll isn't thermal paper or the box was kept somewhere warm. The Desk 3500 prints with heat and has no ink to fall back on.

• Lid pops up or will not clip: an 85 ft roll is the usual cause. At about 45mm it is too thick for this bay, so go back to 50 ft.
