American-made, BPA-free thermal paper rolls for the printer built into the Veeder-Root TLS-450 and TLS-450 Plus automatic tank gauge consoles. Every TLS-450 generation, including the TLS4 and the updated TLS-450 Plus printer Veeder-Root began shipping in 2022, takes the same 3 1/4" wide roll on a 1/2" core, so one case covers whichever console is on your wall. No ink, no ribbon: the paper prints the inventory, delivery and alarm reports your compliance file depends on.

This is the replacement for Veeder-Root printer paper P/N 514100-456 and the 4-roll pack 330020-627, sold as a full case of 50 rolls with a red end-of-roll stripe so the console never runs dry mid-report.

Why American-Made Paper Matters

The paper is the cheapest part of a tank gauge and the most common reason its printer jams. Rolls wound loose, cut off-width or coated unevenly catch in the feed, print light or leave a strip of paper hanging out the side of the compartment. These rolls are manufactured in the United States to consistent width, coating and winding tolerances, so the console prints the same clean report on roll 50 as it did on roll 1.

▶ How to Replace the Paper Roll in a TLS-450 or TLS-450 Plus

1. Open the printer door on the front of the console.
2. Push the feed roller release lever up if the printer has one, then lift out the empty core.
3. Set the new roll in the compartment so the paper feeds from the bottom of the roll toward the front of the printer.
4. Feed the leading edge into the slot until the printer takes it, or pull a short length past the cutter on units without an auto feed.
5. Push the release lever back down, close the door and run a test print from the console menu.

Blank printout? The roll is in backwards. Thermal paper prints on one side only. Scratch the paper with a fingernail: the side that leaves a dark mark faces the print head. Flip the roll and reload.

▶ Roll Length: 85 Feet vs the OEM Roll

Veeder-Root's own 514100-456 roll is wound longer than 85 feet. Length changes how often the roll is swapped, not whether it fits: fitment is set by width, core size and roll diameter, and all three match the OEM roll on this product. The 85 ft roll at 58mm diameter seats in the TLS-450 compartment with room to spare, and 50 rolls per case costs a fraction of the OEM 4-roll pack per foot printed.

▶ Compatibility

This roll fits the printer in the Veeder-Root TLS-450, the TLS-450 Plus (also written TLS-450PLUS) and the TLS4. Veeder-Root specifies the same paper part number, 514100-456, for all three. The TLS-350, TLS-350 Plus, TLS-350R and TLS-300 use a narrower 2 1/4" roll (Veeder-Root P/N 514100-210) and have their own pages on our site; search the store for your console model to order the exact fit. ▶ Why BPA-Free Matters

Thermal paper forms an image with a heat-reactive coating. Some coatings contain BPA, which transfers to skin on contact. Station staff and service technicians handle tank gauge printouts every shift and file them for years. These rolls use a BPA-free coating, reducing chemical exposure for the people who touch the reports most.

▶ Storage and Handling

Store cases in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat and fluorescent lighting, below 77F and under 65% humidity. Properly stored thermal paper holds a clear image for 5 or more years, long enough for most inventory reconciliation and compliance retention schedules. Keep printouts away from solvents, oils, hand sanitizer and PVC sleeves, which fade thermal images. For records you must keep longer, photocopy or scan the printout.
