▶ Black or Purple - Which Do I Need?

Both colors fit the same printers. Black (IR-91B) is the standard choice for everyday receipts and reports. Purple (IR-91P) is used where a colored impression is preferred, such as void copies or color-coded tickets. Pick the color your printer currently runs.

▶ Compatible vs Genuine Citizen Ribbons

This is a new compatible cassette, not a genuine Citizen part. It is built to the same dimensions and ink specification as the IR-91B and IR-91P, so it loads and feeds the same way at a lower cost. Using a compatible ribbon does not void your printer warranty under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, which bars a manufacturer from requiring genuine-only consumables to keep a warranty valid.

▶ How to Replace the Ribbon Cassette

Power off the printer and open the cover. Lift the used cassette straight out. Seat the new cassette into the same position until it clicks, then turn the take-up knob to remove any slack in the ribbon. Close the cover and run a test print.
