Description

Bond Paper Rolls for the Star SP700 Series - 3" x 165' Kitchen Printer Paper, American Made

These bond paper rolls feed the printer your whole kitchen runs on: a Star SP712, SP742, or SP740 hammering out tickets two feet from the fryer on a slammed Friday night. Every plate that leaves the pass starts as a ticket, and every ticket starts with the roll in that bay. These 3" x 165' rolls are cut for exactly that job - sized for the SP700 paper compartment, wound tight and even, so each one drops in, feeds clean, and prints sharp through an entire service.

No heat-darkened tickets. No jams in the middle of a rush. No off-spec paper shedding lint into your printhead. Just consistent, USA-made bond stock your kitchen printer can run all day.

Key Features

  • ✅ Guaranteed fit for every Star SP700 series printer - SP712, SP742, and SP740 in all interface versions - so rolls drop in without adjustment or guesswork
  • ✅ True bond construction shrugs off the heat, steam, and grease that blacken thermal paper next to a grill or heat lamp
  • ✅ Lint-free paper keeps dust off the printhead pins and ribbon, so tickets stay crisp instead of streaked
  • ✅ Consistent thickness from first ticket to last prevents the misfeeds and jams that stall a kitchen mid-rush
  • ✅ Ribbon ink bonds permanently to the paper - tickets and records stay legible for years instead of fading to blank
  • ✅ Red warning stripe shows up before the roll dies, so you swap between orders instead of mid-ticket
  • ✅ American made under tight quality control, so every case runs exactly like the last one
  • ✅ 50-roll case keeps even a high-volume kitchen stocked for months on a single order

▶ How to Load Paper in Your Star SP700

  1. Pull the cover release lever and open the clamshell top cover
  2. Lift out the empty core
  3. Drop the new roll into the bay so the paper feeds from the bottom of the roll, up toward the front of the printer
  4. Pull a few inches of paper past the tear bar or auto-cutter
  5. Press the cover closed until it latches
  6. Press FEED to advance the paper and confirm a straight, smooth feed

Tip: if tickets come out blank on an impact printer, the paper is fine - check the ribbon. A worn or unseated ribbon cartridge is the number one cause of blank tickets on the SP700.

▶ Which Rolls Fit the Star SP700

RollFits?
3" x 165' 1-ply bond (this product)✅ Correct width and paper type
3 1/8" (80mm) rolls❌ Too wide - will not seat in the 3" paper bay
2 1/4" (58mm) rolls❌ Too narrow - tickets misalign and wander
Thermal paper (any size)❌ Wrong paper type - the SP700 is an impact printer

Star rates the SP700 series paper bay for rolls up to 3.35" (85mm) in diameter, and these 165' rolls seat with clearance to spare.

▶ Bond vs Thermal: Why the SP700 Cannot Use Thermal Paper

Typical useKitchen tickets, recordsCustomer receipts

The SP700 is an impact printer. It strikes an inked ribbon against plain bond paper, which is why its tickets survive right next to the grill. Thermal paper loaded into an SP700 will feed, but the heat and friction can darken it unpredictably and it gains nothing - always run bond in an impact printer.

▶ Troubleshooting: Blank, Faded, or Streaky Tickets

  • Blank tickets: The ribbon is worn out or not seated between the printhead and paper. Bond paper cannot print without a working ribbon - replace or reseat the cartridge
  • Faded print: The ribbon is near the end of its ink life. Swap in a fresh ribbon - the paper itself does not fade at print time
  • Streaks or missing dots: Paper lint or debris on the printhead pins. Clean with a soft brush - if the same dot is always missing, the printhead may need service
  • Red highlighting not printing: Requires the black/red two-color ribbon (Star RC700BR), and your POS must be sending red-highlight commands
  • Cover will not close: The roll is oversized for the bay - confirm 3" width and standard 165' length, and clear any torn paper from the feed path

▶ Why American-Made Bond Paper

Paper is the cheapest part in your entire POS stack, and it causes more service interruptions than any other component: jams, misfeeds, lint buildup, rough edges that shred against the tear bar. Milling and converting these rolls in the United States means tight, verified tolerances on width, thickness, and wind - the three things that decide whether a roll runs clean or fights you all week. You get the same paper, the same behavior, case after case. That consistency is the whole point.

▶ Storage and Shelf Life

Keep the case sealed, dry, and out of direct sun until you need rolls. Stored in its original packaging away from heat and humidity, bond paper holds a 5+ year shelf life. Unlike thermal stock, bond has no heat-sensitive coating, so a warm kitchen shelf will not ruin it - but moisture will swell the paper and cause feed problems, so keep it off the floor and away from the dish pit.

We use this paper for our SP700 kitchen printers, I was a little hesitant at first buying paper from these guys, since it was my first time. In the end I was surprised about the quality, and the fast shipping. Definitely get this paper, you will not regret it.

So glad to find this kitchen printer receipt paper, and cheaper than getting it from my merchant provider. Have bought this paper a few times, never had a issue.
