VeriFone VX520 Power Supply | OEM AC/DC Adapter

▶ About the VeriFone VX520

The VeriFone VX520 is one of the most widely deployed countertop payment terminals in North America. It supports dial, Ethernet, and dual comm connectivity with EMV chip reading and optional contactless (NFC) capability. Millions are still in active use at retail stores, restaurants, and service businesses.

The VX520 requires a dedicated 8V DC power supply to operate. Without a working adapter, the terminal will not power on. This is the most common replacement part ordered for VX520 terminals.

1. Power off the VX520 terminal by holding the red cancel key or unplugging the old adapter.

2. Disconnect the old power supply from the bottom of the terminal.

3. Connect the new adapter into the power port on the bottom of the VX520.

4. Plug the AC end into a wall outlet or power strip.

5. The terminal will boot up automatically. Wait for it to reach the home screen.

6. Run a test transaction to confirm stable power delivery.

▶ Troubleshooting

Terminal won't power on with new adapter: Confirm the connector is fully seated in the port on the bottom of the terminal. Try a different wall outlet. Check that the outlet has power.

Terminal powers on but restarts: Check for a loose connection at the terminal. If the power port on the terminal itself is damaged or worn, the terminal may need service.

Adapter gets very hot: Some warmth during operation is normal. If the adapter is too hot to hold comfortably, unplug it immediately and contact support for a replacement.

Wrong connector: This adapter fits VX520, VX510, and VX570 only. VX680 and newer terminals use different power connectors. VX805/VX820 pin pads do not use a separate power supply.
