▶ How to Connect

This power supply connects two ways. To charge through the base, plug the 3.5mm barrel jack into the power input on the back of your Move 3500 or Move 5000 charging base, then set the terminal in the cradle. To charge the terminal directly (without the base), plug the 3.5mm barrel jack into the charging port on the left side of the terminal. Both methods charge the battery and power the terminal simultaneously.

▶ Will This Fit My Terminal?

This power supply fits the Ingenico Move 3500 and Move 5000 only. It does NOT fit: Ingenico Desk 3500 or Desk 5000 (those use an 8V power supply with a different connector), Ingenico Lane 3000/5000/7000/8000 (also 8V), or any VeriFone, PAX, or Clover terminal. The Move 3500 and Move 5000 are wireless handheld TETRA terminals with a touchscreen (Move 5000) or button display (Move 3500). If your terminal sits flat on a counter and plugs into Ethernet, you have a Desk model, not a Move.

▶ Why Use OEM Instead of a Third-Party Adapter?

Ingenico specifically warns in every Move series user manual: "The power supply unit provided with your equipment is specially designed for Ingenico terminals. Do not use any other power supply. Using a power supply with apparently similar voltage/current characteristics may damage your terminal." Third-party adapters may deliver unstable voltage or incorrect amperage. A $10 savings on a generic adapter is not worth risking a $600 terminal.

▶ Signs You Need a Replacement

Your terminal sits in the base but the battery icon does not animate or flash. The battery drains even while the terminal is docked. The power supply feels unusually hot, makes a buzzing sound, or the cable shows visible damage near the plug. The terminal charges intermittently or only when the cable is held at a certain angle. If the terminal charges fine with a different power supply, your current one has failed.

▶ Multi-Location and Spare Strategy

If you operate Move 3500 or Move 5000 terminals across multiple locations, keep at least one spare power supply per site. Power supplies fail without warning, and a dead adapter means a dead terminal until a replacement arrives. Ordering a spare now costs less than emergency overnight shipping later.
