You may see higher character-yield figures advertised elsewhere for this same compatible part. We publish our supplier's rated spec of approximately 1 million characters per cartridge, because reorder planning only works with real numbers. Six honest cartridges per box.

This cartridge fits the classic Microline 100/300 family listed above. It does not fit the Microline 420, 421, 490, or 491. The 400 series takes the Okidata 42377801, which is a physically different cartridge. Every ribbon ships in clear packaging, so compare the cartridge shape against your old one before opening. If you are not certain which family your printer belongs to, call us first. We would rather check a part number with you than ship a ribbon that does not fit.

▶ How to Install

Power the printer off and open the access cover. Slide the print head to the center of the platen and lift out the old cartridge. Turn the new cartridge's feed knob to take up slack, seat it between the print head and the platen until it snaps in, turn the knob once more, close the cover, and run a self-test. Light print on single sheets usually means the head-gap lever is set for multi-part forms. Move it one notch closer to the platen.

▶ Storage

Keep spares sealed until use. Nylon ribbon ink dries with air exposure, so an opened, unused cartridge loses print density over months. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
