▶ Which Sharp Registers Use This Paper?
This 44mm (1 3/4") bond paper fits all Sharp ER-A series cash registers that use the ERC-32 impact ribbon. These are dot-matrix impact printers that require bond paper (not thermal). Compatible models:
- Sharp ER-A510 / ER-A510S
- Sharp ER-A550 / ER-A550S
- Sharp ER-A570
- Sharp ER-A610
- Sharp ER-A650 / ER-A670S
- Sharp ER-3120
- Sharp ER-3550
If your Sharp register currently uses an ERC-32 ribbon cartridge and 44mm paper, these rolls are the correct replacement.
▶ Bond Paper vs Thermal Paper - Which Does My Sharp Register Use?
Sharp made two types of cash registers. The ER-A series (ER-A510, ER-A550, ER-A570, etc.) uses an ERC-32 impact ribbon and bond paper. The XE-A series (XE-A203, XE-A407, XE-A507, etc.) uses thermal paper with no ribbon. Check your register: if it has a ribbon cartridge inside, you need bond paper. If there is no ribbon and it prints with heat, you need thermal paper.
▶ How to Load Paper
Open the printer compartment cover. Remove the empty roll core. Place the new roll in the holder with paper feeding from underneath (check the diagram inside your register cover). Thread the paper through the print mechanism and close the cover. Tear off any excess paper. Both the receipt and journal sides of your register use the same 44mm bond paper.
▶ Storage and Handling
Store paper rolls in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Bond paper is more durable than thermal paper and is not affected by heat, but humidity can cause feeding issues. Keep rolls in their original packaging until ready to use. Properly stored bond paper has a shelf life of 5+ years.
