Each roll is 2 1/4" wide, 50 feet long, and wound to a 36mm diameter on a 1/2" core, so it drops into the Compact's paper compartment, closes without forcing, and feeds cleanly from the first receipt to the red end stripe.

▶ Why These Rolls Fit the Compact

Clover rates the Compact's compartment for rolls up to 40mm in diameter. Generic 2 1/4" paper is often wound to 45mm or more and will not let the cover close. These rolls are wound to 36mm on the correct 1/2" core, so they load with room to spare and run the way the roll that came with the terminal did.

A typical Clover receipt runs 4 to 6 inches. At 50 feet (600 inches) per roll, that is roughly 100 to 150 receipts per roll. Tip lines, signature lines, and itemized receipts run longer and will get fewer. A 50-roll case covers roughly 5,000 to 7,500 receipts.

The receipt roll is the cheapest part of a Compact setup and the most common cause of feed problems. Paper that is wound unevenly, cut off-width, or coated inconsistently jams the cover, fades mid-shift, and wastes time. ▶ Troubleshooting

• • Blank receipts: Paper is loaded upside down. Flip the roll so the paper feeds from underneath toward the front of the terminal.
• • Cover will not close or paper binds: Roll diameter too large. Paper from another source is likely wound past the 40mm Clover rates the compartment for. Switch to rolls wound to 36mm.
• • Faded printing: Residue on the print head. Clean it with an isopropyl alcohol wipe.
• • Red stripe printing: Roll is nearly empty, with roughly 3 to 5 feet left. Replace soon.

Keep unused rolls in their wrapping, away from heat, direct sunlight, and solvents. Thermal paper darkens with heat, so store it in a drawer or stockroom rather than on a counter next to a window or near kitchen equipment.
