Description

Royal 210DX, 240DX, 410DX and 520DX Thermal Paper Rolls - 2 1/4 in (58mm) x 85 ft

Fresh thermal paper is the one supply your Royal register cannot run without. Whether a 210DX or 240DX rings up a snack bar, a 410DX anchors a shop counter, or a 520DX works the lunch rush, every sale ends the same way: a receipt sliding out of the printer. These 2 1/4 in (58mm) x 85 ft rolls match Royal part 013127, the exact paper named in the Royal manual for these registers. Each roll drops into the journal compartment, feeds clean, and prints sharp to the last receipt.

No ink. No ribbon. No hunting for an ink roller these registers never used. Just consistent, USA-made thermal stock your register can run all day.

Key Features

  • ✅ Manual-matched fit for four Royal DX registers: the 210DX, 240DX, 410DX and 520DX, in the exact 2 1/4 in (58mm) width Royal specifies, so the cover closes and the paper tracks straight
  • ✅ Full 85 ft length means fewer roll changes during your busiest hours
  • ✅ Red end-of-roll stripe warns you before the paper dies mid-transaction
  • ✅ BPA-free coating protects the hands that touch receipts all day
  • ✅ Lint-free surface keeps residue off the print head, protecting print quality over time
  • ✅ Made in the United States for consistent coating and reliable blacks, roll after roll
  • ✅ Prints crisp, high-contrast receipts your customers can actually read

▶ How to Load Paper in Your Royal DX Register

1. Turn the register on and open the journal compartment cover at the top of the unit.

2. Set the new roll in the concave cradle so the paper feeds out from the bottom of the roll, toward the front of the register.

3. Pull the print roller assembly toward the back and raise the roller bar.

4. Lay the end of the paper straight across the printer, then snap the roller bar back down on both sides.

5. Press the Feed key until the paper catches and advances through the printer, then close the cover.

Tip: if receipts come out blank after a fresh roll, the roll is loaded backwards. Thermal paper only prints on one side - flip the roll so the paper feeds from the bottom.

▶ Faded or Blank Receipts: What to Check

• Blank receipts with a new roll: the roll is in backwards. Flip it so the paper feeds from the bottom of the roll.

• Faded or patchy print: the paper may have been stored in heat or direct sun, which weakens the thermal coating. Try a roll from a fresh pack.

• Cover will not close: the roll is too large for the compartment. These DX registers take a 1.77 in (45mm) diameter roll - larger register rolls will not fit.

• Print faded across every roll: clean the print head gently with isopropyl alcohol on a soft swab with the register off.

▶ Which Royal DX Registers Use This Roll

• Royal 210DX - entry-level thermal register on the same DX platform as the 240DX. Its manual calls for 2 1/4 in (57.5mm) thermal paper and warns against bond.

• Royal 240DX - entry-level thermal register with 200 departments. Its manual names this exact paper, Royal part 013127.

• Royal 410DX - compact thermal register. The Royal manual calls for 2 1/4 in (57.5mm) thermal paper and warns against bond.

• Royal 520DX - thermal register with front and rear displays. Its manual also names Royal part 013127.

All four take the same roll, so one order covers any mix of these registers at your locations.

▶ Thermal Paper vs Bond Paper

Thermal paper has a heat-reactive coating on one side - the print head darkens it with heat, so nothing else is consumed. Bond paper is plain uncoated stock that needs an ink roller to leave a mark. Some older Royal registers print with ink on bond, but the DX thermal models on this page have no ink mechanism at all. Run bond through them and you get blank receipts and extra wear on the print head. If you are unsure which paper you have, scratch the surface with a fingernail: thermal paper shows a dark mark, bond paper does not.

▶ About Compatible Thermal Paper

These rolls are made to the same dimensions Royal specifies for part 013127. Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a manufacturer cannot void your register warranty simply because you use compatible supplies. Your register measures paper by width, diameter, and coating - not by the label on the case.

▶ What's Included

Your order includes the number of rolls you select above: 6, 12, 18, 24, or a 50-roll case. Every roll is the same 2 1/4 in (58mm) x 85 ft thermal stock.

NOT included: an ink roller, because these thermal registers do not use one, and the register itself. This listing is for paper only.
