Description
Star TSP700 / TSP700II Thermal Paper Rolls - BPA-Free American Made
Your Star TSP700 or TSP700II handles the heavy printing — receipts, tickets, labels, barcodes — and it needs paper that keeps up without jamming, fading, or leaving residue on the print head. These American-made thermal rolls are cut to 3 1/8" x 230' with a 1/2 inch core and 2.75 inch outer diameter, the maximum length that fits the TSP700 paper compartment. Drop one in, close the cover, and print. No ink, no ribbon, no toner. Just clean, consistent thermal output your printer can run all day.
BPA-free coating, red end-of-roll warning indicator, and a lint-free surface that protects the thermal print head from dust buildup.

▶ How to Load Paper in Your TSP700 / TSP700II
1. Lift the paper cover on the top of the printer.
2. Remove the empty core from the paper compartment.
3. Place the new roll into the compartment with the paper feeding from the bottom of the roll (outside wound).
4. Pull a short length of paper past the cutter edge.
5. Close the cover firmly until it clicks.
6. The printer will automatically feed and cut a test strip.
Tip: if the printer produces blank receipts, the roll is loaded backwards. Flip it over so the thermal side faces the print head.
▶ Which Roll Sizes Fit the TSP700 / TSP700II
✅ 3 1/8" x 230' with 1/2 inch core and 2.75 inch OD - this product, maximum capacity
❌ 3 1/8" x 230' with 7/16 inch core - will not seat properly on the TSP700 spindle
❌ 2 1/4" x 50' (58mm rolls) - too narrow for the 80mm paper compartment
❌ 3 1/8" x 119' or shorter rolls - will fit but waste capacity; use full 230' rolls
The TSP700 paper compartment accepts rolls up to 2.75 inches (70mm) in outer diameter with a 1/2 inch core. Rolls with a larger OD will not fit and the cover will not close.
▶ Troubleshooting: Blank or Faded Receipts
• Blank receipts: The roll is loaded backwards. Open the cover, flip the roll so the thermal coating faces the print head, and reload.
• Faded or light printing: The print head may have residue buildup. Clean it with a soft dry cloth or an approved thermal print head cleaning card. If printing is still faded after cleaning, the print head may need replacement.
• Paper cover will not close: The roll outer diameter is too large for the compartment. Confirm the roll is 2.75 inch OD or smaller. Remove any loose paper wrapped around the outside of the roll.
▶ Why BPA-Free Matters
Thermal paper uses a chemical coating to produce images when heated. Many thermal papers use BPA (bisphenol A) in this coating. BPA transfers to skin on contact, and cashiers and staff who handle receipts hundreds of times per day have measurably higher exposure. Our rolls use a BPA-free coating that eliminates this concern without affecting print quality, image darkness, or shelf life.
▶ Why American-Made Paper
The paper is the cheapest part of your printing setup, but it is the part most likely to cause problems. American-made thermal paper is manufactured under consistent quality controls — uniform coating thickness, clean edges, accurate winding. That consistency means fewer jams, cleaner print head contact, and receipts that remain legible for years. It is a small cost difference that eliminates the most common source of printer downtime.
▶ Storage and Handling
• Store rolls in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight and UV exposure.
• Avoid storing near heat sources, solvents, or plasticizers (vinyl binders, plastic wrap).
• Thermal paper has a shelf life of 5+ years when stored in original packaging at room temperature.
• Printed receipts will remain legible for 7+ years under proper storage conditions.
