Description
Thermal Paper Rolls for the Ingenico AXIUM DX4000
Your AXIUM DX4000 sits at the center of every checkout. Every card dip, contactless tap, and chip read ends with a receipt that needs to be sharp, clean, and ready before the next customer steps forward. These American-made 2 1/4 in (58mm) x 50 ft thermal rolls are cut to the exact width and diameter your DX4000 accepts. Load one, close the cover, and let every receipt print clean until the red warning stripe says it is time for a fresh roll.
No ink. No ribbon. No mid-transaction paper jams that leave a line forming while you fumble with a replacement. Just consistent, USA-made thermal stock your terminal can run all day.

▶ How to Load Paper in Your AXIUM DX4000
- Lift the catch at the top of the terminal and pull the printer cover toward the rear until it opens fully.
- Drop the new roll into the compartment with the paper feeding from underneath, curving up and over the front edge.
- Pull enough paper past the tear bar so a few inches extend beyond the cover.
- Press both upper corners of the paper cover simultaneously until the cover clicks closed.
- Tear off the excess paper cleanly against the tear bar.
Tip: If receipts come out blank, the roll is loaded backwards. Flip it so the thermal side (the slightly glossy side) faces the print head.
▶ Which Roll Sizes Fit the AXIUM DX4000
| Roll Size | Fits? | Why |
| 2 1/4 in x 50 ft (this product) | ✅ Yes | Correct width, correct diameter for DX4000 compartment |
| 2 1/4 in x 85 ft | ❌ No | Roll diameter too thick for the DX4000 paper bay |
| 2 1/4 in x 230 ft | ❌ No | Full-size register roll, far too large for any countertop terminal |
| 3 1/8 in (80mm) rolls | ❌ No | Too wide, will not fit the 58mm paper path |
▶ Troubleshooting: Blank or Faded Receipts
- Receipts print completely blank: The roll is loaded upside down. Remove it, flip it over so the thermal coating faces the print head, and reload.
- Print is faint or fades quickly: Confirm you are using thermal paper, not bond paper. Bond paper requires an ink ribbon and will not produce an image on a thermal printer.
- Paper cover will not close all the way: The roll diameter is too large for the compartment. The AXIUM DX4000 accepts a maximum 40mm outer diameter. Use a 2 1/4 in x 50 ft roll (37mm OD).
▶ Why BPA-Free Matters
Thermal paper uses a heat-activated coating to produce an image without ink. Some coatings contain bisphenol A (BPA), a chemical that transfers to skin on contact. Every receipt your staff hands to a customer is a touchpoint. These rolls use a BPA-free coating so the paper your team handles hundreds of times a day is one less thing to think about.
▶ Why American-Made Paper
Paper is the cheapest part of your payment setup and the most common cause of a service interruption. A roll that jams, feeds crooked, or leaves residue on the print head costs you more in lost time than the roll itself ever cost to buy. Every roll we sell for the AXIUM DX4000 is manufactured in the United States under consistent quality controls, so the paper that worked last month works the same way this month. Batch-to-batch consistency is what keeps your DX4000 printing clean receipts without surprises.
▶ Storing Your Paper Rolls
Thermal paper is sensitive to heat, direct sunlight, and UV exposure. Store rolls in their original packaging in a cool, dry area away from windows and heating equipment. Properly stored rolls maintain print quality for 5 or more years. Avoid storing rolls near kitchen heat sources or in direct sun, as prolonged exposure causes the thermal coating to darken prematurely.
▶ Compatible Terminals
Ingenico AXIUM DX4000 Desktop, Ingenico AXIUM DX4000 with MagicBox. Both configurations use the same 58mm paper path and accept the same 2 1/4 in x 50 ft thermal rolls with a 1/2 in core.
