Description

Ingenico Lane 3000/5000/7000/8000 Ethernet Cable with Power over Ethernet (PoE) OEM 6ft

Simplify your Ingenico Lane terminal installation with this OEM Power over Ethernet (PoE) cable. One cable delivers both network connectivity and power to your Lane 3000, Lane 5000, Lane 7000, or Lane 8000, no separate power supply needed. Just connect to a PoE enabled switch and your terminal is ready to process payments.

Key Features

  • ✅ Power over Ethernet (PoE), single cable delivers BOTH network and power to your terminal, eliminating the need for a separate power supply
  • ✅ OEM Ingenico cable, guaranteed compatible with Lane 3000, Lane 5000, Lane 7000, and Lane 8000 (all versions)
  • ✅ 2-meter cable length (6.5ft), ideal for countertop POS setups with nearby PoE switch access
  • ✅ RJ45 Ethernet connector, standard network connection for fast, reliable wired networking
  • ✅ Cleaner installation, one cable instead of two means less clutter at your POS station

▶ What's Included & What You'll Need

In the box:

  • ✅ 1x Ingenico Lane PoE Ethernet cable, 2m (296227853AB)

NOT included (required):

  • ⚠️ PoE-enabled network switch — required to deliver power through the Ethernet cable (standard non-PoE switches will provide network only, not power)

NOT needed with this cable:

  • ? No separate power supply required, PoE switch delivers power through this cable (terminal model needs to be PoE capable)
  • ? No power cord needed at the terminal location, one cable does everything

▶ How to Install (Step by Step)

  1. Confirm your network switch supports PoE (check for "PoE" or "802.3af/at" on the switch label or documentation).
  2. Power off your Ingenico Lane terminal.
  3. Connect the proprietary end of this cable to the port on the bottom of your Lane terminal.
  4. Connect the RJ45 end to a PoE-enabled port on your network switch.
  5. The terminal will power on automatically, verify network connectivity in the terminal's settings menu.

Tip: Use this cable when more than one Tetra device will be connected to the same PoE switch. This simplifies multi-terminal deployments by eliminating individual power supplies at each station.

▶ PoE vs External Power Cable — Which Do I Need?

Ingenico offers two Ethernet cable options for the Lane series. Choose based on your network setup:

Feature PoE Cable (This product) External Power Cable
Part Number: 296227853AB 296114829AD
Length: 2 meters (6.5ft) 6 feet
Power Source: PoE switch (through cable) ✅ Separate power supply
Power Supply Needed?:  No ✅ Yes (sold separately)
Cables at POS Station: 1 cable ✅ 2 cables (Ethernet + power)
Requires PoE Switch?:      Yes No ✅
Best For: Multi-terminal setups, clean installs Single terminal, no PoE switch available

If you already have a PoE switch, this cable is the better choice, one cable, no power supply, cleaner installation. If you don't have a PoE switch, use the external power cable (296114829AD) instead.

▶ All Ingenico Lane Cable Options Compared

Cable Connection Length Power Best For
Ethernet w/ PoE (This product):    RJ45 Ethernet 2m (6.5ft) PoE ✅ Clean single-cable installs
Ethernet w/ External Power (6ft): RJ45 + power port 6ft External No PoE switch available
Ethernet w/ External Power (13ft): RJ45 + power port 13ft External Terminal far from network jack
Ethernet Socket (2m): RJ45 socket termination 2m External Use your own patch cable
USB Cable: USB + power port 6ft External USB-connected POS systems
RS232 (DB9): Serial DB9 + power port 6ft External Legacy serial POS systems

Not sure which cable your POS system requires? Contact your POS provider or check your terminal's current cable connection type.

▶ Troubleshooting — Terminal Not Powering On or Connecting

  • Terminal not powering on? Verify your network switch supports PoE (802.3af or 802.3at). Standard non-PoE switches provide network only, they cannot deliver power through the cable.
  • PoE switch confirmed but still no power? Try a different PoE port on the switch. Some switches have a limited PoE power budget, if too many devices are drawing power, newer connections may not receive power.
  • No network connection? Verify the RJ45 end is securely plugged into the switch. Check for link lights on the switch port.
  • Intermittent connection drops? Check for loose cable connections at both ends. Try a different port on your switch. Ensure the cable is not pinched or kinked.
  • Slow transactions? Verify you're connected to a Gigabit or Fast Ethernet port. Avoid daisy-chaining switches between the terminal and your router.
  • Wrong cable? If the connector doesn't fit your terminal, you may have a Desk series or legacy Ingenico model. Check the model number on the back of your terminal.

▶ Why Use OEM Cables?

Third-party cables may not maintain proper pin alignment, shielding, or PoE power negotiation for Ingenico Lane terminals. Using OEM cables ensures:

  • ✅ Correct PoE power negotiation with your switch
  • ✅ Correct pin configuration for reliable data transmission
  • ✅ Full compatibility with all Lane firmware versions
  • ✅ Safe power delivery, no risk of terminal damage from incorrect voltage
  • ✅ No risk of voiding your terminal warranty

OEM Part #296227853AB — this is the exact cable Ingenico specifies for Lane, iSC, or iPP series PoE installations.
